This month we are introducing Leslie Stenerson and Joshua Shearer who live on Ella Lee Lane. Leslie and Joshua moved to Village West in November of 2018. They previously lived in the area and were happy to have found a home in VW that that had the features they were looking for. Leslie is eager to get more involved with VW and so we thought this would be a great opportunity to introduce them to our community.
Leslie is from Houston and Joshua is from Hollywood, Florida. They met while attending the University of Houston and were married in 2017, though they tell us that they were poor college students at the time and decided to have the formal “make mom happy” ceremony last year. Leslie and Joshua both have a brother and their respective families now all live in Houston.
Joshua and Leslie enjoy reading: she likes science fiction, and he likes old style horror authors like Steven King. They also enjoy playing board games and cards. They tell us that although they do in fact enjoy winning, it is the comradery and problem-solving skills required that they enjoy most.
Leslie and Joshua have a variety of pets. They have 10 aquariums (3 – gallon size and seven under 30 gallons) and are extremely knowledgeable about aquatic life. They also have a adorable rabbit named Stogey. Stogey gets along great with Adaline, the 3-legged cat because they both hop. Tobias is another feline who Lelsie adopted after one of her students brought it to school and asked her to take it to the SPCA.

Leslie also participates in ‘Field Fighting’, which she tells us is a combination of medieval contact sport and MMA (Mixed Marital Arts). Leslie finds it a great way to relieve stress and is involved with the San Jacinto Knights of Houston, who will be participating in the Texas Renaissance Festival this month. Check out the club’s webpage for more information (https://fullarmoredcombat.com/).
Leslie is a high school teacher at Ft. Bend ISD and Joshua is a software developer. Say hello the next time you see Leslie and Joshua. I am sure they would enjoy talking to you and getting to know more of their neighbors.
